Idea Laboratory iDEAlab is a non-profit association from Novi Sad that advocates for the promotion of entrepreneurship among young people. We are dedicated to providing advisory support to their ideas, which we do through working on projects and holding trainings.

iDEAlab was created as part of the international Tempus project, coordinated by the University of Novi Sad. This enabled us to successfully spread our initiative among the students of Novi Sad faculties, however, we were motivated to help people much more widely. It was clear to us that nowadays, the best way for someone to find out about you is through the Internet. We thought that the solution to that problem was simple - we will create our own website.

It is true that when we created the site, there were positive changes for our work and that really made us happy. People found us more easily, we reached new members and there were more people interested in our projects. However, we made one mistake - we thought it was enough to create a site and leave it passively.

Already after a few months, we noticed that something strange was happening. Fewer and fewer people contacted us or mentioned that they found out about us online. Again, we were limited to only those we were able to reach through the faculty. Fortunately, it turned out that the young people who we used to encourage and give advice to, have now developed their own initiative and are here to give advice to us.

WE HAD A WEBSITE, BUT WE HAD NO IDEA WHAT A WEBSITE CAN ACTUALLY DO IF USED TO THE MAXIMUM. NOW WE KEEP MORE ACCOUNTS ABOUT IT, AND THE NUMBER OF OUR MEMBERS AND PEOPLE WHO SUPPORT OUR GOAL IS GROWING!

Saša, the initiator of the Tourmalin startup (whose first beginnings took place right in the iDEAlab space) drew our attention to the fact that the site was not ready when it was created. As we constantly strive to improve the quality of our work through training and innovation, the site must also be constantly maintained and improved in order to continuously achieve better results. Regular website maintenance is crucial for its long-term profitability.

Technology is constantly advancing, and a site that is not updated regularly becomes vulnerable to hackers or malware. However, it also becomes unstable, loads slower as it becomes outdated and does not keep up with the changes in the world of technology. It creates a headache for visitors, because they have no time to waste and would like to easily reach what they are interested in. Google is also constantly changing its algorithms that determine the positioning of the site on the Internet search and you need to keep up with it, otherwise you will not pop up in the search at all.

Saša pointed out the opportunities that exist to make better use of our site. We have also noticed that since we are more up-to-date in terms of information and current events related to our association, we have a much higher response because people can more easily follow our work and stay up to date with us. In addition to numerous obligations in the association, we do not manage to enter all the information on a regular basis, but since we entrusted the care of our site to Tourmaline, in addition to technical support, we also receive the services of uploading texts, images and other content when we need it.

A SMALL NUMBER OF PEOPLE ARE AWARE THAT CONTINUOUS SITE MAINTENANCE IS NECESSARY BECAUSE IT DIRECTLY AFFECTS ITS SEARCHABILITY, VISITATION AND THE GENERAL IMPRESSION IT LEAVES ON USERS.

Now through the Internet we manage to attract many more people and nurture quality relationships with all those who support us, because our visitors are satisfied while using the iDEAlab site.
