iDEAlab - Opening ceremony

Creative laboratory for encouragement and development of entrepreneurial and innovative ideas of students - iDEAlab was officially opened on April 22, 2016. The laboratory is located in the very heart of the campus of the University of Novi Sad at Dr Ilije Đuričića Street 3, in the building of the Student Dorm "Slobodan Bajić".

iDEAlab is a creative work space intended for students of all faculties of the University of Novi Sad, who will have the opportunity to develop and learn together in interdisciplinary teams about entrepreneurship, innovation, the market and everything that awaits them after the end of their studies with training, mentor support and everything necessary resources and modern technology, such as 3D scanners, 3D printers, Arduino and Lego Mindstorm kits that will be at their disposal. In addition to developing creative entrepreneurial ideas, thematic lectures, workshops, trainings and competitions will be organized.

The goal of iDEAlab is to systematically encourage and direct the creativity, innovation and proactivity of students and researchers, to affirm their talent and strengthen their entrepreneurial skills and abilities. Through cooperation with companies and working on real business problems, iDEAlab will encourage the concept of open innovation, creating more meaningful connections between the University and the business environment and encouraging the overall entrepreneurial climate.

The entry of the first teams into iDEAlab is planned after the upcoming Startup Weekend (May 13-15), where the selection of the best ideas and teams that have the potential to develop them will take place.

iDEAlab was created within the international Tempus project "Fostering students' entrepreneurship and open innovation in university-industry collaboration (iDEALab)" coordinated by the University of Novi Sad. As part of the project, a regional network of six laboratories was formed at 6 institutions in the region (University of Novi Sad, Higher Technical School of Vocational Studies in Zrenjanin, Higher Technical School of Vocational Studies in Subotica, University of Donja Gorica in Podgorica, University of Banja Luka and University in Zenica).
