Parsley, rosemary, basil, oregano... These are just some of the spices without which the preparation of many of our dishes would be unthinkable. Apart from the kitchen, these and many other spices also have medicinal uses. For example, parsley and basil are rich in vitamins A and C, very powerful antioxidants and very good support for the human immune system. Rosemary stimulates circulation and blood flow to the brain, thus enhancing concentration and soothing headaches. Oregano is primarily recommended to help with digestive disorders, and is an excellent fighter against viral and bacterial infections.
Growing these plants will not only provide you with delicious spices at your fingertips, but they will be a very interesting decoration, and also refresh your entire environment and restore life energy. Pot planting and growing herbs are a simple and interesting hobby that will bring about a positive change in you and encourage you to relax and enjoy yourself.
WHETHER IT IS AT HOME OR OFFICE, IT IS A FACT THAT WE SPEND MOST OF OUR DAY INDOORS. MANY PEOPLE DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW MUCH IMPACT IT HAS ON OUR HEALTH AND QUALITY OF LIFE.
If the air quality in the space we live in every day is bad, it can cause various health problems such as irritation of the nose, throat, eyes, increased fatigue, dizziness, headaches. Another of the many benefits of herbs is that they purify the air.
Potted spices take in carbon dioxide from the room, and then release oxygen into it. For example. Rosemary (like most plants with needle leaves) is a powerful cleaner of stuffy rooms. In addition to cleaning, it also releases its essential oil into the air, which further boosts our cognitive functions and protects the brain from free radicals.
Besides being able to refresh and enhance your living space, herbs can also be a great addition to your office. Medicinal plants such as, for example, are also ideal for your workspace. mint, sage and lemon balm, whose scent soothes and relaxes.
DID YOU KNOW THAT GROWING AND CARE OF HERBS CAN HELP YOU ADVANCE YOUR CAREER?
Research generally shows that if you arrange your work environment so that it is really nice and pleasant for you, it will have a positive effect on your psychological well-being, and therefore will encourage creativity. It makes sense, right? The more satisfied you are, the more naturally and easily bursts of energy, creativity and productivity will come to you. By doing so, you will reach higher achievements and progress in your work.
One is particularly interesting research by British scientists published by the University of Exeter where the efficiency of 350 subjects was compared depending on whether they stayed in a work environment with or without plants. Shown that plants in the office increase productivity by 38%, creativity by 45% and overall well-being by 47%.
Apart from the fact that a beautifully decorated space is more pleasant to stay in, we must not forget that many of the aromatic plants increase concentration, reduce stress and restore the strength of the entire organism. This can be by taking these plants as food into the body, but also by inhaling the medicinal substances they release into the air.
You can also always use spices during your lunch break, which is certainly a small practical and cute trick that will make your everyday life in the office a little different 🙂
Considering all their benefits, we also wanted to choose herbs for our creative space in iDEAlab that will encourage us to be productive and create a stimulating, yet pleasant environment for our members. The lovely Milica from the Soul Garden nursery helped us with that.
Herb producers in our area are not exactly on every corner, so we struggled a bit until we found what we were looking for. Fortunately, in the meantime Soul Garden launched its own website and web store, so everyone can get extraordinary spices for themselves anytime and anywhere.
It was important for us to get plants that were not treated with any harmful substances, because if the plants are not healthy at the start, how can we expect them to have a healthy effect on us? We were very happy when we came across something completely natural and chemically untreated.
Milica advised us to enhance the space with pots of purifying oregano and how to incorporate chili peppers for a particularly effective decoration. Of course, we didn't miss medicinal herbs with a calming effect to reduce stress. There is something about when tiredness and headache are already starting from hard work, and the smell of mild mint is there to refresh and calm you down. Another bite with added rosemary, which is also on hand, to improve concentration and you are as good as new!
We thank Milica for her kindness, recommendations for spices and all the explanations, and if you want to read more about the spices she grows in the Soul Garden nursery, by all means visit their site at this link. And if, like us, you are interested in spices, but still do not have enough knowledge, it is a great opportunity to get to know them more and find the ones that will best complement your home or office.
